The internal post traffic grew by 17.42 percent in 2006, from 472 million mail items in 2005 to 555 million last year.

Over 43,000 people were working in the post services in 2006, of whom 80.69 percent were employees of the Romanian Post National Company, and the others come from private companies.
The number of private posts employees grew by round 22 percent in 2006 from 2005.
The report on the Romanian post service market in 2006 is based on reports by 218 postal service providers. There were 238 authorized postal service providers in 2006, by 25.26 percent more than in 2005.
