Loading ...British investment fund Dawnay Day Carpathian, developer of the network of commercial centers under the brand Atrium Centers in the main cities, exceeded in the first year since the entry into the Romanian real estate sector a third of the overall allotted budget of investments worth 900 million euros.
The British developed announced the intention to invest at least 325 million euros in commercial projects, of which about 50 million euros are the sums paid for the purchase of the plots of land on which the projects will develop, plus 19 million euros for the takeover of the commercial center Macro Mall Brasov (central Romania).
The company announced the acquisition of a plot of land in Satu Mare (north-eastern country) of approximately 27,000 square metres, appraised at 9.5 million euros. Dawnay Day Carpathian plans to invest 64 million euros in a multinational center with retail spaces and designed for relaxation.
Satu Mare is the fourth city announced by the company after Cluj-Napoca (center-west), Arad (west) and Baia Mare (north). The project will have lettable area of 31,000 square metres and its value might reach 84 million euros upon completion.
Dawnay Day company, which unfolds activities in the real estate investments sector in several countries such as Germany, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Ukraine, the Baltic states or India, announced earlier this year investments of 900 million euros in real estate projects on the Romanian real estate market. The group is listed with the London Stock Exchange and holds total assets worth over three billion euros.
According to the real estate consulting company Jones Lang LaSalle, the rents of commercial spaces in Bucharest are among the most expensive in Europe, standing at 100-150 euros/sqm a month, whereas for offices they are among the lowest in the region, ranging between 20 and 22 euros per square metre a month, daily Business Standard informs.
