Loading ...The volume of Romanian-Turkish trade can reach 6.5 billion dollars at the end of 2007 and 10 billion dollars in 2010, said on Friday the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Romanian-Turkish Business Forum in Bucharest.
“The commercial channels between Romania and Turkey interest us. The Turkish businessmen invested 2 billion dollars in 2007 in Romania. We need more economic solidarity for common development, Turkey being the third place in terms of capital invested in Romania,” said the Turkish PM.
President of Romanian Chamber of Trade and Industry Dragos Seuleanu said that Turkey is one of the few states that Romania has a balanced trade with. He said that the two states should draw up projects and common strategies for the Black Sea area, attracting European funds.
The volume of bilateral trade over the first nine months of 2007 advanced 40 percent as against the similar period of the past year, reaching 4.4 billion euros.
“The increase in maritime and land trade thorough modern infrastructure, correlated with the development of bilateral relations in the energy field, industry and constructions, will create a proper environment for direct foreign investment,” said Rifat Hisarciklioglu, President of Turkish Union of Chambers of Trade and Industry.
