Loading ...In the first nine months this year, the sales of Skoda and Peugeot cars increased slower than the general rise in the market of imported cars.
Skoda, which ranked second in point of sales among imported cars last year, ranks third now, with its place taken by Volkswagen, which reported a 13 percent rise in sales, to 16,924 cars.
Responsible for the drop in Skoda sales is the fall in the sales of Fabia model, daily Cotidianul writes.
French brand Peugeot went two places lower, Opel and Ford went in front of it. Opel reported 13,380 cars sold, Ford – 11,280 and Peugeot – 10,660.
From among the first ten imported brands, only three brands kept their positions of last year.
Renault continues to be leader, with 21,854 cars sold, although its 43.9 percent rise in sales was slower than the general rise in the market.
Fiat and Toyota also kept their positions of last year, they continue to rank 9th and 10th, with 6,987, 6,723 cars sold respectively.
Fiat sales rose over 60 percent Jan. through Sept. 2007, and Toyota ones over 85 percent.
The sales of new imported and domestic cars rose 23. 1 percent in the first nine months this year, to 228,877 cars sold, say data from the Association of Car Makers and Importers.
The local cars market went down 8.2 percent Jan. through Sept. 2007, to 82,566 cars. The imported cars sales rose 52.4 percent in the same interval, to 146, 311 cars.
