Calibra Invest estimates rising business in 2008

Tourism agency Calibra Invest in Cluj-Napoca (central-west) estimates a tuirnover worth some 9.5 million euros for this year, up 26 percent as against 2007.
 
Martin Bikfalvi, the agency’s general manager aims to reach the predicted turnover by attracting customers through programmes with new destinations, by increasing the number of charter flights on traditional routes and opening a branch in Egypt.
 
Calibra reported 7.5 million euros in turnover in 2007, up 12 percent as against the level of 2006 and a profit of some 450,000 euros, up 23 percent compared to 2006.
 
According to Bikfalvi, at present, the outgoing segment holds a share of 80 percent in the company’s turnover and the business travel – 10 percent.
 
Also in 2008, the company will have a 4-star hotel following an investment worth 2 million euros.
Bikfalvi estimates the Romanian tourism market will go up 20-26 percent in 2008.
 
Some of Calibra Travel’s competitors are Happy Tour, Eximtur, Marshal Turism, Aerotravel or J’Info Tours. The biggest travel agencies operating in Romania reported revenues worth 600 million euros.
