Loading ...Iveco Romania, the largest lorry distributor on the Romanian market, estimates sales amounting to 450 million euros in 2008, up by 10 percent as against last year.
The biggest lorry distributor on the Romanian market plans to sell about 8,000 lorries of all kinds this year as against 7,505 in 2007. The demand will especially be stimulated by the demand for heavy-duty vehicles to be used in constructions.
Ionut Radu, managing director of the above-mentioned company, says that investments amounting to hundreds of billions euros are underway or in project form in Romania and investors also need the vehicles supplied by Iveco. In his opinion the predictions for this year are optimistic, considering the fact that the demand for Iveco heavy-duty lorries increased by almost 25 percent in 2007. Deliveries will also be supported by the investments in the national network of sales and service that includes 22 units at present.
This year the company will extend its offer by the new version of the Trakker heavy-duty lorry to be used on building sites and by the new full drive medium class model Daily.
The competitors of the Iveco make on the local market are DAF, Volvo, Renault, MAN and Scania.
The company’s representatives appreciate that in 2008 the total market will increase by 10 to 30 percent on this segment.
