Provident Financial Romania reports revenues worth 3.9m GBP

Provident Financial Romania (PFR), the consumer loan company which introduced the method of the loan being granted directly at home, reported last year total revenues of 3.9 million GBP (over 5 million euros) compared to 300,000 GBP registered in 2006, according to figures supplied by the company.
 
For 2007, PFR announced losses worth 5.4 million euros following the investments made by the company for the extension of the operations in new towns. At mid-June 2007, the company announced the decision to expand the activity nationwide, following the success reported by the pilot operation started in Bucharest in the first half of 2006.
 
According to figures supplied by the company, last year PFR extended loans totally worth over 9.2 million GBP (some 12 million euros) as against 1.3 GBP in December 2006.
 
Provident Financial Romania had at the end of 2007 over 33,000 customers, five times more compared to the end of 2006. The results were announced on Wednesday in London by the mothercompany International Personal Finance, supplier of consumer loans headquartered in the UK.
 
“Provident Financial Romania is a company with excellent perspectives, the results registered in Romania being in line with the solid performances of the International Personal Finance group in all the six countries where it unfolds its activity,’’ said Stephen Rice, the company’s general manager.
 
Provident Financial Romania’s services are available in over 30 Romanian towns, as the company has a network of about 700 representatives.
 
Provident Financial Romania is part of the British group International Personal Finance.
