Premier Tariceanu to participate in European Council meeting

Romanian Prime Minister Calin Popescu-Tariceanu is to participate on Thursday and Friday in the spring meeting of the European Council, to be held in Brussels.
 
The Romanian head of the Executive will be accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Adrian Cioroianu and by Economy and Finance Minister Varujan Vosganian, with the three to make up the governmental part of the Romanian delegation to the European Council's 2008 spring meeting.
 
Participating in the meeting there will be also Romanian President Traian Basescu.
 
The spring meeting of the European Council is to launch the new three-year cycle of implementing the Lisbon Strategy in the field of economic growth and job creation: 2008-2010. The agenda of the gathering will also include such topics as the law packages to be drafted on climate changes and energy. The stability of the financial markets will be another issue to be approached during the meeting.
