Information in English

Prime Minister Calin Popescu-Tariceanu announced on April 2 at the Parliament Palace that he would organize in the second quarter of the year a conference meant to attract investment from Great Britain, especially in the energy and banking sectors.

The head of Government met on April 2 with British PM Gordon Brown and discussed about the extension of the bilateral cooperation in the economic sector, as well as issues on the NATO Summit agenda in Bucharest.

"I am interested in a follow-up of the conference on attracting British investment in Romania, held in February in London and enjoying then interest of British investors. We will hold a similar meeting in Bucharest in the second quarter of the year. The British PM was keen to know if the Romanian economy continues its registered progress and I think these elements are a clear element of attraction for the British investment in fields where such investment lack, the energy and banking sector," said PM Tariceanu.
