Hewlett-Packard Romania (HP), the local branch of the world’s biggest maker of printers and PCs, will hire around 750 people by the year’s end, most of them for the service center in Bucharest.
The company is expected to employ some 2,250 people in end Dec.
Service and support centers announce hundreds and even thousands of new jobs this year. IT experts, auditors, experts in the legal field, speakers of foreign languages are in high demand.
The IT&C sector is among the ones worst hit by the staff deficit, recruiting is underway for several companies in the field. Oracle Romania, the subsidiary of the biggest business software company worldwide, intends to hire 500 people for its service and support centers in Bucharest, Siveco maker of software solutions wants to hire 200.
HR manager HP Romania Ecaterina Ion believes there is no staff shortage. "The still are good specialists and well trained young people in Romania. But one has to know how to attract them, there must be some balance between wages, the work environment, and career plans," believes Ion.
