Loading ...Borbala Vajda, president of the National Commission for the Control of Nuclear Activities (CNCAN) on May 12 issued the license for the functioning and maintenance of Units 1 and 2 of the Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant, to the management of National Company Nuclareaelectrica SA, reads a CNCAN release.
Unit 1 entered commercial exploitation on December 2, 1996 and has performed remarkably well since, complying with all nuclear security requirements and electricity production standards.
Unit 2 entered commercial exploitation on October 5, 2007 and its performance so far is a guarantee that it will work just as smoothly as Unit 1.
The functioning and maintenance license issued by CNCAN certifies the fact that the Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant operates under safe nuclear conditions, ensuring the security of the personnel, of the population and the environment.
