Meeting of institutional networks of Francophony in Bucharest

The Foreign Affairs Ministry and the International Francophony Organisation (OIF) organizes in Bucharest over June 19-21, 2008 the meeting of the institutional networks of francophony were expected to participate are representatives of 20 countries, reads a release of the Romanian Foreign Affairs Ministry sent on Wednesday to Rompres.
 
Due to be approached at the meeting are issues referring to the strengthening of cooperation between institutional networks and the outlooks of their partnership with the International Francophonie Organisation, the planning of some actions in the law and justice field for the implementation of the Declaration of the Conference of justice ministers of Francophone countries (Paris, February 2008), the consolidation of the partnership with the operators of Francophony and the cooperation outlooks with regional and international organizations. The conclusions of the meeting will be presented within the 12th Summit of the Francophonie in Quebec (October 17-19, 2008).
 
Due to attend the event are presidents of Constitutional Courts, high francophone courts, high courts of cassation and justice, National Commissions for Human Rights of OIF member states. Also invited are members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Bucharest, Romanian representatives of the academic society and of the civil society. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be represented by state secretary for strategic and global affairs Iulian Blaga who will deliver a speech within the official opening ceremony.
 
The institutional network of the Francophony emerged following a process of coagulation and structuring which started at the 3rd Summit of Francophony, Dakar, Senegal (1989) forming up a system which facilitates the obtaining and integration of information, as well as an experience exchange among the bodies with competencies in the legal, justice and litigious field, the observance of the human rights and of the rule of law of the French speaking countries and governments.
 
At present there are 13 institutional networks of the Francophonie, whose main objective is the consolidation of the political dimension and of the rule of law and democracy in the Francophone area. Romania is represented in seven of these networks: the International conference of bars with common legal tradition, the associations of supreme control institutions having the utilization of the French language in common, the association of the Constitutional Courts having the French language in common – Romanian vice president, the Associations of ombudsmen and French mediators, the Association of the High Court of Cassation of the countries which have the French langauage in common,. The Union of Economic and Socail Councils and of similar institutions of states and governments of OIF – Romania vice-president, the Association of Francophone Notaries.
