Loading ...Termoelectrica and the consortium made up of E.ON Kraftwerke and Enel signed on June 18 the memorandum of understanding for the establishment of a new electricity production group, as part of the Braila-based thermal power plant.
According to the memorandum, Termoelectrica’s assets will be assessed and the new capacity will be analysed as part of a feasibility study. The results of the study are expected for the end of the year, when the parties will decide whether or not to implement the power plant project.
This is supposed to be a modern thermal power plant, fully compliant with the EU standards on emissions, with an energy efficiency of almost 46 pct.
Electricity and heat producer Termoelectrica covers some 17 pct of the market. The company has three electricity production branches (Electrocentrale Bucharest, Electrocentrale Deva and Electrocentrale Galati) and four subsidiaries (Braila, Doicesti, Borzesti, Paroseni).
The electricity and heating energy producer started similar projects at the Doicesti, Borzesti and Galati thermal power plants.
E.ON Kraftwerke is the branch of the German company E.ON Energy, which operates in Romania electricity supplier for the area of Moldova, former Electrica Moldova Co., with 1.3 million clients.
Italy’s Enel is present in Romania through supplier Enel Energy and distribution facilities in Dobrogea, Banat and South Muntenia. Enel has 2.5 million clients on the local market.
