Loading ...Subaru Motors Trading, importer of Subaru brand in Romania, estimates for this year a turnover worth 16 million euros as against 10 million euros in 2007, according to the company.
The company sold last year in Romania 415 Subaru cars and this year it plans to reach 700 units this year, up 69% compared to the previous year.
The Romanian car market grew over 23% in 2007 as against the previous year to almost 370,000 cars. In the first five months of the year, sales of new cars went down 1.6% allowing for the strong regress registered for the imports of new cars.
The main competitors on the market are Dacia Renault, Porsche, GM, Trust Motors and Auto Italia.
Subaru Motors Trading released on June 19, the first engine boxer diesel designed for models Subaru Legacy and Outback, as answer to the market’s demand for diesel cars.
Subaru aims to sell this year in Romania about 200 diesel cars, daily Business Standard quotes general manager of Subaru Motors Trading, Stavros Kanonopoulos, as saying.
The company holds in Romania 12 showrooms in Bucharest and in big cities and by the end of next year it plans to open other 8 branches. By the end of next year, Subaru will open a new 3S construction (showroom, service and spare parts) on an investment appraised at 7 million euros.
