Loading ...The Romanian coal output will stand at 35.45 million tonnes this year, out of which 2.85 million tonnes pit coal and 32.6 million tonnes brown coal, shows the Mining Industry Strategy over 2008-2020.
The Romanian coal production is put at 37.65 million tonnes next year (2.85 million tonnes pit coal and 34.8 million tonnes brown coal), while by 2010 it is predicted to amount to 37.65 million tonnes (2.9 million tonnes pit coal and 37.3 million tonnes brown coal).
The coal output will keep on growing, up to 41.46 million tonnes by 2011 (2.96 million tonnes pit coal and 38.5 million tonnes brown coal) and climb by 2012 to 41.66 million tonnes (2.96 million tonnes pit coal and 38.7 million tonnes brown coal).
According to British Petroleum, the Romanian coal reserves at the end of last year amounted to 422 million tonnes oil equivalent.
