Exports of Sandero, the newest model of Dacia car maker, reached 8,871 units this June, representing 49% of the deliveries abroad of the Romanian carmaker.
The exports of Logan sedan model dropped in June down to 2,580 units, that is half the figures in May, with the drops in Logan MCV having stood at 24%, that is coming down to 6,742 units.
“This is a logical consequence of the launch of a new model, with us needing to watch if Sandero will leave behind estimates. I am nevertheless pleased with how the model was received by the market and I also think we will sell more units abroad than in Romania,” Constantin Stroe, Vice-Chairman with Automobile Dacia said, quoted by Ziarul financiar daily.
The making of Sandero changed the production structure of Automobile Dacia, so that the making of 10,514 cars in June resulted in a drop by 49% in the production of Logan sedan and by 30% in the production of MCV. According to Constantin Stroe, the compay configured the maximum production capacity of Sandero up to 600 cars per day, out of the total 1,300 cars. In the context the current production rate is maintained, there will result 800,000 Sandero units by the end of the year.
Once with the launch of Sandero on the local market, approximately a month ago, the Dacia officials have stated that the model will represent in the second half of the year the engine for the increase in the sales, with the growth pace having been estimated at 13%, the same as in the first half of 2008.
