“Since we officially entered the Romanian market, at the end of 2006, we have had results exceeding expectations. There was a boom on the retail segment in 2007, which led to a significant increase in sales,” according to AMD’s Vice President for Sales and Marketing in Eastern Europe, Pierre Brunswick, for Business Standard.
He added that, since 2006, the company has registered growth above that of ’s market level, which has led to a significant market share for both desktop computers and notebooks.
Of the total 228,800 PCs sold in the first quarter of 2008, as many as 84,800 had AMD microprocessors, according to data provided by International Data Corporation (IDC) EMEA market research company.
