The fund numbers 1,891 shareholders, holding 19.51% of the share capital.
Proprietatea Fund, set up in 2005 as a solution for paying damages to former owners whose properties were seized by the communist rule, and whose assets cannot be returned in kind, has a share capital worth 14.2 billion lei (or some four billion euros).
The fund holds shares from 88 companies, many of them in the energy sector.
The net profit of Proprietatea Fund rose last year 4.3 times, to 313.1 million lei (some 94 million euros), its turnover stands at over 400 million lei, almost five times higher than that in 2006.
