Loading ...New car registrations in Romania dropped in the first 8 months of 2008 by 3.5% versus the January – August 2007 and stood at 201,870 units, according to the statistics with the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA), published on 16 September.

The ACEA statistics refer to the car markets in 28 European states – 25 in the EU (without Cyprus and Malta) and three EFTA states – Iceland, Norway and Switzerland. In the first 8 months of 2008, a total of 10.411 million cars were registered on these markets, down 3.9% against the similar period in 2007.
The number of Dacia car registrations on these markets stood at 121,912 units in January – August 2008, up 6.4% versus the similar period in 2007, when 114,581 units were registered. The market share of Dacia rose to 1.2% from 1.1% in the first 8 months of 2007.
