Information in English

The main dissatisfaction of Romanian employees, at work, is related to salaries, 73% of them want higher wages, reads a study carried out by Ipsos Research Institute, and ordered by Accor Services Co., one of the main players in the market of meal vouchers.

The research says that Romanians are the Europeans most dissatisfied with their salaries.
Next come the French and the Italians. At the opposite pole are the Belgians, 64% of them said they are satisfied with salaries.
Romanians are discontent not only with salaries, but also with bonuses and such like. 69% of the respondents said they are dissatisfied with pays, and so are the French and the Italians.

The shortage of money is the main reason of professional worry for Romanians, and not the fact that they could be laid off, writes the publication. 64% of the respondents from private companies said they are worried about the level of their salaries, up 3% than the respondents from public companies. The number of employees from private companies who are discontent with their salaries advanced 10%, the number of those in the public system went down 3%.

Most recent statistical data show that, in July, the net average salary stood at 1,308 lei (some 366 euros), up some 26% from the same month last year. The analysis shows that the level of salaries does not yet have a strong impact on the way in which Romanian employees look at work and their professional situation, generally, the results are good enough in this respect.

The study was made on a sample of 1,296 Romanian employees from public institutions and the private environment. The analysis also regards employees from Belgium, Britain, Germany, Spain, Italy and France.
