Search Corporation consultancy, specialized in infrastructure consultancy services, estimates a turnover of up to 25 million euros in 2008, a 20% surge compared to the previous year, Michael Stanciu, majority shareholder of the company, told on October 1.
“Search Corporation will boost its turnover by 20% this year, to an amount ranging between 22 and 25 million euros, although a lower growth pace from last year”, said Stanciu.
He stressed that the market of infrastructure consultancy and drafting knew a renewal in 2007 and 2008 after in 2005 and 2006 the activity of elaborating infrastructure projects was almost blocked.
“The market will continue to develop because very large amount of money will be invested in road, railway, but also naval and air infrastructure and consultancy services have a share of 5-7% in the costs of such projects”, said Stanciu.
The company implemented projects or supervised works within some projects in value of 4.4 billion euros in the past 15 years. In Romania, the company is involved both in the drafting of Transilvania motorway segments, as well as in the implementation of feasibility studies for Bucharest-Brasov motorway, Timisoara-Arad-Nadlac motorway or Pan European Transport Corridor IV, together with ring roads construction around Bucharest south, Pitesti, Timisoara, Craiova, Satu Mare and Pascani and in supervision or drafting of national roads rehabilitation.
In 2009, more than 1,300 kilometres of motorway will be in construction in Romania, within some projects in the value of billions of euros, such as Transilvania motorway (Bors-Brasov),
which will cost more than four billion euros and Comarnic-Brasov motorway, estimated at more than one billion euros.
Romania is set to receive from European funds some 4.6 billion euros, over 2007-2013, for infrastructure, of which more than 1.7 billion euros for the motorway construction. The funds are to be used for the construction of Pan European Corridor IV at motorway level, designed to make the linkage between the West border and the Romanian Seaside.
