The Senate and Chamber of Deputies Standing Bureaus have decided on Monday (Oct 13) to invite Romania's National Bank Governor Mugur Isarescu in front of Parliament's reunited chambers in order to present a report on the consequences of the international banking system's collapse upon the Romanian economy.
"We have decided to also invite BNR Governor Mugur Isarescu, depending on his programme, when we will examine the budgetary execution on 2008", announced the Secretary of the Standing Bureau of the Chamber of Deputies, Dan Radu Rusanu, at the end of the meeting.
The decision has been adopted following the request of Senate's vice-president Corneliu Vadim Tudor. In a letter addressed on behalf of the Greater Romania Party (PRM, in opposition) groups in the Senate and in the Chamber of Deputies, Vadim Tudor asked that Governor Isarescu is invited to Parliament "as urgently as possible".
