Electrica is going to supply twice as much electricity next year to industrial consumers compared to 2008, company’s director general Corneliu Stan announced in Rome.
“We already have some 80% of the energy quantity requested by consumers, under conditions of a twice as much demand on the market”, explained Stan.
He stressed that Alro, which has become Electrica’s customer in the second half, has asked an almost double quantity as against 2008 and Oltchim – 20% more electricity.
As for Sidex Galati, the second Electrica’s top client, the energy quantity is 6-7-fold less due to restructuring the activity.
Electrica covers at present 10% of the supply market, Energy Holding ranking first, with 11%.
Corneliu Stan also mentioned that, in the five years to come, Electrica is to invest 1.2 – 1.5 billion euros in renewable energy projects.
As for the wind turbine energy, tenders will be organized in December in connection with some projects and for the others the measurements will be started, but all studies are estimated to be completed within a year.
The first study for 50 MW will be ready in December and the second in January, a third going to be finalized in July-August and after that equipment can be purchased.
On the hydro-energy side, the launch of mini-hydro power stations construction was delayed due to a series of problems linked to the property rights and on the solar energy side two pilot projects are to be launched, an electricity station for the own technological consumption reduction and another to raise Electrica building.
