Romgaz has finalized the process of storing natural gas in the 6 underground storing facilities it has in Balaceanca, Bilciuresti, Ghercesti, Sarmasel, Urziceni and Cetatea de Balta and has exceeded by 50 million cubic meters the scheduled capacity, informs a company’s release.
This year’s stockpile stands at 2,810 million cubic meters versus the scheduled stockpile of 2,760 million cubic meters, up 4.5% versus the 2007 stockpile.
The total stockpile of natural gas, which includes the existing inactive stockpile made in 2008 1,335 million cubic meters), stands at 4,145 million cubic meters.
The total stockpile of natural gas estimated to be recorded at end-2008 stands at 4,505 million cubic meters, out of which 3,170 million cubic meters of active stockpile and 1,335 million cubic meters of inactive stockpile. The role of the inactive stockpile is to increase the daily delivery capacity of the gas from the storing facilities in periods of peak consumption.
Works of 97.2 million lei have been conducted in 2008 to increase the daily delivery capacity of the gas from the storing facilities and the safety of these facilities.
