Loading ...Romania fully backs up the European prospects of the Republic of Moldova, stated on Thursday Premier Calin Popescu-Tariceanu at the end of the talks with his Moldovan counterpart Zinaida Greceanii.
"Romania fully and with all its energy supports the European prospectS of the Republic of Moldova. We wish to influence EU to pay greater attention not only to the West Balkans zone, but to Moldova as well and we would like to see it placed at the same interest level as the West Balkans. We are going to make most consistent efforts in order to see achieved these European aspirations of Moldova", stressed Tariceanu.
At the same time, he noticed that Romania is the most significant commercial partner of the Republic of Moldova and voiced hope that bilateral economic exchanges are to attain one billion euros.
"At the end of August, Romania climbed on the first spot in the classification of Moldova's main export partners and ranks second as for imports. This enjoys us, but also make us seek and identify added solutions for the boosting of economic exchanges volume. I refer here to the opportunities we must provide to small and medium-sized enterprises in both countries, so that they develop mutual investments", Tariceanu also said.
In her turn, Zinaida Greceanii expressed "gratitude for the support given to her country's European integration hopes". Chisinau PM also stated that the Republic of Moldova further relies upon Romania's support.
"We can assess a constructive collaboration between our countries at regional level… We appreciate Romania's accord to take part in the Central European Initiative summit to take place on November 28, in Chisinau. We also welcome Romania's decision to take over the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) Presidency in 2009", she emphasized.
