Belgian IPTE Group announced on October 20 that its Connect Systems division is to close down Slovakia-based plant and will relocate all activities to the plant in Romania, in the attempt to reduce costs, international press agencies inform.
According to a company press release, the transfer of all cable production activities from Slovakia to Romania is going to be finalized up to March 31, 2009.IPTE has launched its subcontracting activity in Romania, in 2002. The Connect Systems Group holds eight plants in Europe and in Romania the company has a plant in Oradea and one in Bors (both in the west).
