Loading ...The overall consumption of natural gas grew in the first half of this year to 8.531 billion cubic metres, the biggest consumption being reported in January – 22.1994 billion cubic metres, according to figures supplied by the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE).
In June 27.37% of the domestic consumption of natural gas came from imports, the remainder of natural gas being domestic production. The domestic production of natural gas that entered consumption accounted in June for 72.63% of the total of resources, whereas the first two producers (Romgaz and Petrom) covered 96.7% of the source.
Wintershall company provided 72.5% of the total imports and 41% of the current import of June was stored.
The average price of imported natural gas in June stood at $416.44/ 1,000 cubic metres. The natural gas imported by Imex Oil (the second largest importer of natural gas in Romania) was cheaper by the natural gas imported by Wintershall, even if the share of the latter in the current monthly import is of some 2.5 times higher.
