The people interested in taking out a loan should rather turn to a broker than a bank in times of economic crisis, say the representatives of the professional organization the Romanian Association of Credit Brokers (ARBC).

“The broker is the ‘personal adviser of anyone who is interested in taking out a loan. The services of the credit brokers are free of charge and offer the possibility of choosing the most appropriate financial solution depending on the characteristics of the loans and the client’s request.

A credit broker will always consider the products of several banks or non-banking financial institutions. Credit Zone has in its portfolio 18 partner banks and over 80 loans”, said Marina Sterpan, product manager at loan brokerage firm Credit Zone.
In Romania, some 55 of total retail loans taken out from banks are brokered by credit brokers.

The representative of Credit Zone says the credit market in Romania is stagnating due to the international financial context and the changes occurred in the banks’ internal crediting policies.
After the stabilization of the financial market, the volume of the loans intermediated by the brokerage firms is estimated to go up by 10-15% in the next 4-5 years.
