A cooperation agreement was signed on November 18 in Moscow between the chambers of commerce and industry of the Russian Federation and Romania.
The agreement stipulates the boosting of Romanian-Russian commercial relations through information exchanges, identification of secure business partners, participation in fairs, exhibitions and conferences, organization of meetings between business circles.
Emphasizing the growth of bilateral commercial exchanges and the high level of 1.5 billion dollars attained by Russian investments in Romania, Evgheni Primakov, the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of the Russian Federation, pointed out, according to Radio Romania -Actualitati, the need to strike a balance, the trade between the two countries being dominated by export of energy and raw materials from Russia to Romania.
In his opinion, this will be feasible through the diversification of exports, with accent on higher technological level products and with quality parameters in line with exigencies worldwide, a message addressed to Romanian producers, as well.
According to the same source, the Chairman of Romania’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mihail Vlasov and his Russian counterpart Evgheni Primakov also underscored the role played by the chambers of commerce in the promotion of connections at the level of small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as between regions. As such, the signing of an agreement between the chambers of commerce of Constanta County (south-east Romania) and the Republic of Tatarstan was convened.
