The Central Election Bureau announced early on Monday (Dec 1) that 71.06% of the votes cast in the polling stations nationwide in Sunday's parliamentary elections have been counted.
The opposition Democratic Liberal Party (PD-L) got 33.29% of the votes for the Deputies' Chamber, closely followed by the PSD+PC Alliance (the opposition Social Democrats and Conservatives) with 32.51%. Next are placed the ruling National Liberals (PNL) with 18.10% and the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR, a junior ruling coalition partner) with 6.20%.
In the upper Senate house the Democratic Liberals got 34.67 % of the votes, the PSD+PC Alliance got 33.36%, the Liberals 18.18% and the UDMR 6.44%.
The other parties all got less than 5%, the Bureau announced.
