The award for the wine winning the largest number of medals in international contests went to the Murfatlar Wine Grower for its Lacrima lui Ovdiu 12 (Ovid’s Tear) that had won two gold, three silver medals, whereas its Zestrea Murfatlar received the medal for the most sought-after origin red wine.
Recas Wine Cellars won the prize for the most important Romanian wine exporter for its Frunza (the Leaf), a bestseller on the UK market.
Cezar Ioan, a journalist with the vinul.ro received the prize for the best wine writer of the year.
Dealu Mare Domains were designated the newest winemaker that entered the Romanian market.
