According to Romsilva, the areas to be afforested are mainly concentrated in ten forestry departments in the plain areas in the south, east and south-east of the country.
Out of the area that must be afforested, 639 ha are plots of land that cannot be used as farmland.
According to Romsilva, 10,425 ha were afforested in this year’s spring campaign, which represents 67.7% achievement of the 2008 programme.
