Grandemar Mininig and Quarrying Company of Cluj Napoca (central) plans to invest 5.5 million euros in quarries, the Ziarul financiar reports on November 24.
Grandemar, whose main client is US Bechtel Corporation builder of the Transilvania motorway, expects to end 2008 with overall sales worth 22 million euros, up over 37% higher than last year.
Grandemar management announced a round 5.5 million-euro investment plan for retooling its stone quarries and reported around 3.5 million euros spent so far to modernize and expand the quarries in Poieni and Bologa, and more 2 million euros to be allocated to the quarries in Moigrad and Morlaca, next year.
“We intend to completely change the technological flow and rebuild the access way to the quarry. Next year, all Grandemar quarries will benefit from retooling programmes,” the Ziarul financiar concluded quoting general manager Carmen Ionescu as saying.
