Loading ...Romanian companies need instruments to have the simplest, fastest and most efficient access to the funds provided by the general action plan to counter the sweeping financial crisis, recently announced by the European Commission (EC), stated on November 27 European MP Iuliu Winkler on the occasion of the inauguration by Eximbank of an agency in Deva (Romania’s center).
“I welcome the opening of an Eximbank agency in Deva, especially in the context in which, on Wednesday, the EC released the European Economic Recovery Plan. This plan includes economic measures, spanning over two years, in total value of some 200 billion euros, namely 1.5% of the GDP of the EU member states. This plan provides measures for the stimulation and encouragement of SMEs activity, for reviving economy in all EU member states, for boosting investments and the implementation of an efficiency plan in the energy field”, pointed out the European MP.
He added that the main challenge the EU member states are facing is represented by the implementation as fast as possible of these EC proposed economic measures. Winkler underlined that Eximbank is one of the instruments available for the government to aid and bolster the economic activity. According to the MP, the implementation of this economic stimulus program depends to a great extent on the direct access of the companies in all Romania’s regions, condition materialized through the expansion of Eximbank network in the territory.
“An improved Eximbank presence in the territory, a higher number of agencies will play a very important role in the implementation of the measures the government, EC and EU institutions will take in the period to come in order to diminish the impact of the global economic financial crisis.

Over January 2005 – July 2007, Iuliu Winkler, as member of the Inter-ministerial committee for financing, guarantees and insurance, pleaded in favor of Eximbank expansion in the territory, arguing that this Romanian state’s bank, an important link in the government’s co-financing programs, must be accessible to all the economic agents, all over the country.
