Registrations of new cars in Romania dropped by 53.1% in November this year on the same month last year, having stood at 13,713 units, compared with 29,230 units in November 2007, according to statistics of the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA), released on Tuesday (Dec 16).
There were registered 266,637 new cars on the Romanian market January through November this year, that is a drop by 7.5% compared with the same interval last year.
The ACEA statistics target the car markets in 28 European states, 25 from the EU (not including Cyprus and Malta) and three EFTA states – Iceland, Norway and Switzerland. There were registered 13, 788 million cars in these countries January through November, a decrease by 7.1% on the same interval in 2007.
The number of registrations of Dacia cars on these markets stood at 14,678 units in November 2008, that is a drop by 16.4% on the same interval in 2007, when there were registered 17,561 units. The market share of Dacia brand went up from 1.1% in November 2007 to 1.2% in November 2008.
There were registered 171,073 Dacia cars in the 28 European states in January-November that is a growth by 8.6% against the same interval last year.
The Renault Group sold 1,213 million units in total on the 28 markets in the first 11 months in 2008, down by 5.3% against January-November 2007.
