Prime Minister-designate and leader of the Democratic Liberal Party (PD-L) Emil Boc announced on Wednesday (Dec 17) afternoon that following negotiations with the Alliance joining the Social Democratic Party and the Conservative Party (the PSD+PC Alliance), the power-sharing parties agreed that the Democratic-Liberals be in charge of the Ministry of Public Finance, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Regional Development and Housing, the Ministry of Communication and Information Society, the Ministry of Culture and Religious Affairs and National Heritage, the Ministry of Youth and Sport and the Ministry of Tourism.
In his turn, PSD president Mircea Geoana said that the Social-Democrats get the portfolios of Labour, Family and Social Protection; Education, Research and Innovation; Health; Agriculture; Administration and Home Affairs; Foreign Affairs; Environment; Small and medium-sized Enterprises and Business Environment. The Cabinet will also include a Minister responsible for liaison with Parliament.
As already announced, the Ministry of Justice and Public Freedoms will be headed by an independent.
