Romania has the chance to overcome the economic crisis, though a smaller economic growth than the one in 2008 is forecast, which is natural, spokesman of the National Bank of Romania (BNR) Mugur Stet said at a seminar on the economic and financial crisis. According to Stet, the economic growth levels over the past few years have been very good, as they helped Romania catch up with the developed countries, the EU countries respectively.
He admitted that 2009 would be difficult for Romania, as many adjustments will have to be made.
Within the event, a series of Romanian and foreign experts have analysed the characteristics of the crisis periods, the role of the media, marketing and communication and consumers’ specific attitudes in crisis situations.
