A number of 231 projects totaling over 392 million euros were submitted until the start of this month within the Regional Operational Programme (REGIO), at the level of Centre Region, to which the sum of 483.62 million euros has been allocated.
A regional conference held on December 19 in Alba Iulia (centre) informed that three contracts had been signed, and other 92 are in pre-contract phase, with most of them (89) being in 4.3 field (backing the development of micro-enterprises). The eligible total value of the 95 projects stands at some 67 million euros.
The Centre Region was the first in Romania to have signed a contract on axis 2 (improvement of regional and local transport infrastructure), a project of Harghita County Council, with an eligible total value of 15.22 million euro. The other two signed projects were submitted by Alba County Council, for the rehabilitation of 107 M county road on Aiudului Valley, and by the “Central Transylvania” Intercommunity Development Association, for buying equipment for improving the capacity and quality of the intervention system in emergencies and granting emergency medical assistance and qualified first aid, in Region 7 Centre.
The first project has an eligible total value of over 6 million euros. The second one is worth some 10 million euros. Other 27 of the submitted projects are being evaluated, and 109 have been rejected. The sum left available for Centre Region stands at over 302 million euros. The eligible total value of the projects under evaluation stands at some 115 million euros. The Centre Region includes the counties Alba, Brasov, Covasna, Harghita, Mures and Sibiu.
