Loading ...Romania will participate, with its own stand, in the 24th edition of the International Book Fair in Jerusalem, held over Feb 15-20. The stand of Romania is organized by the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR), from Tel Aviv, in a partnership with the Romanian Ministry of Culture, Religious Affairs and National Heritage – International Relations Directorate, with support from the Romanian Embassy in the State of Israel.
Invited are writers Petru Cimpoesu, Radu Aldulescu, Dan Lungu and Gabriel Chifu, plastic artist Ioana Ursa, from the Club of Book Illustrators of Romania, Lucia Toader, coordinator of the programme „Fellowships for foreign translators” of the National Book Center, Bogdan-Alexandru Stanescu, editorial manager of Bucharest branch of Polirom publishing house.
Apart from the events held at the stand – literary debates, book launches, public readings, exhibition of child book illustrations – and from the participation in the talks in a literary cafe, ICR organizes two events for the Israeli public of Romanian language, namely a meeting with officials from the Hasefer Publishing House of Romania, and a round table on the current Romanian literature and its impact on the cultural life in Romania. The meetings are organized in cooperation with the Association of Israeli Writers of Romanian Language (ASILR) and the Cultural Center in Jerusalem.
