The highest quantity of power was provided based on coal – 39.46 percent, followed by hydro and renewable resources – 27.86 percent, nuclear – 17.3 percent and gas – 14.03 percent. The remainder of produced energy was derived from crude oil and other conventional sources. CO2 emissions much higher than the country average were registered at the heating station CET Brasov (center) – 1,483 g/kWh, UT Giurgiu (south) – 1,388 g/kWh, Elcen Oradea (west) – 1,177 g/kWh, CET Craiova (south) – 1,149 g/kWh, Elcen Deva (west) – 1,101 g/kWh etc., whereas Energy Holding, ISPH, Hidroelectrica and Nuclearelectrica had zero emissions.
