Loading ...The wines made by the Romanian SC Cotnari have won ten medals, four of gold, at the Chisinau Wines & Spirits Contest 2009, at the ExpoVin Moldova 2009. Thus, SC Cotnari wine maker becomes this year the company winning the largest number of medals in the Contest organized in the capital city of the Republic of Moldova and brought together 48 wine makers from 14 countries.
The gold medallists have been white wines such as Grasa de Cotnari of the editions of 1984, 2002, 2003 and 2004. The white wines like Blanc Cotnari (2006), Dealul Catalina (2007 and 2008), Castel Feteasca Alba (2008), Grasa De Cotnari (1999) and Tamaioasa Romaneasca (2005) have won silver. Also vying for Romania was Speed wine maker and it has ranked second among the countries, because of the ten medals Romania has won, after the Republic of Moldova, the host country that has won 22 medals.
Chisinau Wines& Spirits Contest has happened, every year, since 1992, along with the international ExpoVin Moldova exhibition. The 2009 edition is the 18th and it has brought together 150 wine makers from 14 countries, among which Romania, Bulgaria, France and Italy. The exhibition shows wines and spirits, equipment and accessories for the wine industry, vine cuttings and auxiliary materials.
