Loading ...The Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIB) will work together with Albania's Embassy to Romania in order to draft projects that might boost the trade between Romania and Albania, the CCIB has said in a release.
'The volume of economic exchanges between our two countries is modest, but there is a range of opportunities for the development of the economic relations between the two countries', said CCIB chairman Sorin Dimitriu at a meeting with Albanian ambassador Dashnor Dervishi. Boosting the commercial exchanges between Romania and Albania, expanding the cooperation on research and cooperation on an academic level are the three areas of cooperation that the CCIB chairman proposed to the Albanian ambassador.
The new CCIB strategy targets the economic exchanges with the Balkan countries as a priority. The CCIB, in order to implement such strategy, will carry out in May an economic mission to travel to Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo; the Bucharest Chamber of Commerce also plans to stage a business forum. 'This moment is very important, since if we speak of a crisis, then the crisis represents an opportunity for countries such as ours', Dimitriu said.
Dervishi, in turn, stressed that special importance should be placed on construction, farming, energy and research, notably the research on alternate energy and environment. The Albanian market also demands steel-making industry equipment and oil- and gas industry equipment. The Albanian diplomat suggested the Romanian side to include a meeting with the Industrialists Consortium of Tirana, in the mission's programme, while the CCIB chairman stressed the two countries should also include the cooperation on third markets among their common projects.
