Loading ...Automobile Dacia will be showcasing the commercial version of its SUV codenamed Sandero 4×4 at the Geneva Motor Show, daily Ziarul financiar reports. Sources close to the manufacturer say work is being currently done on the Sandero 4×4 project that will be ready soon. All other design concepts and versions have become secondary, they say. The model was 80% conceived by the Renault Technologie Roumanie (RTR) research and development centre and is currently undergoing preliminary drive tests.
After the tests, it is scheduled to enter mass production. RTR, with an engineering department in Bucharest and test tracks at Titu, is currently busy working on next-level technology, including Euro5-compliant motoring and automatic transmission. Also in Geneva, Renault will be displaying its Clio III facelift, the small-class model that will be released in France this May, when the new Megane model is scheduled for release in Romania.
In 2008, the Romanian manufacturer launched the new Sandero, in 2006 it unveiled Logan Steppe and in 2009 it will unveil Dacia Coupe. The paper says that the new model prepared for the Geneva Show will most likely be a sedan SUV, given that Automobile Dacia has announced it was working on a SUV equipped with a 1,.6-l 130 HP engine, the same that will power the new sports version of its Logan.
