Henri Coanda airport, among European airports with high-quality services

The international airport Henri Coanda, of Bucharest (AIHCB), ranks better, passengers believe, than many European airports, in point of the quality of services, reads a study of the Airports Council International (ACI), with the participation of 125 airports at global level.
 
The Henri Coanda airport is rated better than airports such as those in London, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Rome Fumicino, Frankfurt or Milan Malpensa, as regards several chapters connected with the quality of the services. At chapters such as "Safety checking care", "Waiting time for security check" and "The feeling of security in the airport," AIHCB is rated before airports such as Charles de Gaulles, London, Brussels, Madrid, Frankfurt or Milan.
 
When it comes to terminal facilities, AIHCB is seen as a friendly airport, where the passengers should not walk long distances up to the points of interest, it has information and direction signs facilitating orientation in the airport, with the passengers giving marks putting AIHCB alongside Vienna, Athens, Zurich, Helsinki. Goods results have also been scored at sections such as "Accessible prices for public parking lots, " Facility in making connections with other flights, " The time to wait for passport check", "The ambiance in the airport" "Comfort in the area of boarding gates."
 
The study has also shown that there is potential for improvement in segments connected to the air transport, such as transport to/from the airport, restaurants, shopping, WI-FI, exchange offices. The research has been made on the basis of the answers given by the passengers in the interval October-December 2008, as part of the programme "Airport Service Quality Survey, " coordinated by ACI, the only such association at world level.
 
AIHCB has also opted for a comparative study with other 23 airports chosen after various criteria, such as the quality of services, comparable growth, regional hubs (Zurich, Copenhagen, Athens, Munich, Amsterdam, Vienna, Frankfurt, Rome, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Lisbon, Geneva, Brussels, London Gatwick, London Heathrow, Madrid, Helsinki, Dublin, Milan Malpensa, Milan Linate, Birmingham, Stockholm, Singapore, Dubai).
 
The Henri Coanda International Airport of Bucharest registered, in 2008, a total number of 5,004,958 passengers, up 11.64 percent compared with 2007, when the total number stood at 4,482,771, according to data from the Ministry of Transport. During 2008, on the two runways of the airport, 71,137 movements of aircraft were made, which means that every seven minutes, a plane landed or took off from the airport. Compared with 2007, the number of movements of aircraft increased 7.24 percent.
