Romanian Labor Minister Marian Sarbu on Monday, February 23, met with Serbian deputy PM, Jovan Krkobabic, to discuss issues related social policies and the reforms in the field. Also approached were the measures adopted by the two governments to combat the effects of the economic crisis.
"The Romanian-Serbian bilateral ties are based on the traditional friendship relation, being considered very good, but, against the current backdrop, bilateral cooperation can be expanded, given that Romania, as EU member state, has a lot of experience as regards the EU accession process," Marian Sarbu said.
He underscored that the Romanian Labor Ministry can provide the technical assistance, through its advisors and experts, to the Labor Ministry in Serbia, as regards the adoption of the community acquis in the social field. The negotiation of the bilateral agreement in the field of social insurance is another topic on the meeting's agenda. Serbian deputy PM, Jovan Krkobabic is paying visit to Bucharest over February 23-23, 2009.
