Loading ...Romanian Foreign Minister Cristian Diaconescu on Thursday at a conference hosted by Titulescu European Society said that the Romanian-Italian economic ties, though 'excellent', might be harmed if 'a certain type of negative approach prevails.' The minister underscored that there are currently 26,000 Italian companies in Romania and 23,000 Romanian companies in Italy.
He explained that Italy is a country with a serious tradition in the field of SMEs from which we have plenty of things to learn, adding that it is among the first six or seven economies in the world. "Italy is investing in Romania more than in China," Diaconescu said. "All these figures speak not only about values and money, but also about the tight relations between the two countries.
It is clear that, in terms of harmonization of the legal framework, the relation between Romania and Italy works perfectly well as regards the institutional and business ties. Why shouldn't the various aspect of law in the bilateral relation work the same?" Diaconescu said rhetorically. Diaconescu underscored that the European values were not connected in any way to extremist rhetoric, which does not define the political area.
