Loading ...Romania's Foreign Minister Cristian Diaconescu reiterated, in Moscow, on Friday, Romania's endorsement for resolving the Transniestrean conflict in a 5+2 negotiation formula. Romania offers the Republic of Moldova a European partnership based on their bilateral relations ForMin Diaconescu said answering the question by a student of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Diplomatic Academy.
We back up the 5+2 negotiation formula and we reckon that any solution referring to the frozen conflicts should be put into relation to the integrity and the sovereignty of the states, namely the Republic of Moldova, in this case, Romania's top diplomat said.
During his visit to Chisinau ForMin Diaconescu recently expressed Romania's support to the Transniestrean conflict in the 5+2 formula: the Republic of Moldova and Transniestre as involved parties, Russia, Ukraine and OSCE as mediators and the EU and the US as observers, observing the principle of the Republic of Moldova's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
'From Romania's standpoint we do not see necessary at the moment to be of different opinion, other than that of the EU. Romania's stance is hailed by all the partners in the negotiation formula, ForMin Diaconescu told a joint news conference with his Moldovan counterpart Andrei Stratan Romania is a EU country and therefore through its EU membership takes part in the negotiations, directly, ForMin Diaconescu said.
