74 pct of Romanians say country hard hit by financial crisis

Some 74 percent of Romanians believe their country is hit by the world financial and economic crisis hard, shows a survey conducted by the Company for Sociological Research and Branding (CCSB) made public on Friday, Feb. 27. As much as 21 percent of the polled say Romania is very little affected by the crisis, while 30 percent believe the safety of their job is very little hit by the crisis; 18 percent of the respondents say the crisis affects their job safety very much.
 
55 percent of the polled believe Romania is currently going to the wrong direction, while 33 percent say Romania is going to the right direction. When asked which are the three most serious problems facing Romania at present, 29 percent of the surveyed answered the economic issues, 21 percent said the living standard, 12 percent said political aspects, 6 percent said criminality dilemmas, 4 percent said health care issues, 3 percent justice issues and 2 percent pointed to infrastructure elements.
The survey was conducted on Feb. 21-24 on a sample of 1,131 persons. It carries a tolerated error margin of 3 percent and a probability level of 95 percent.
