Loading ...Romanian wine distributors will have the chance to participate for the first time in the Fenavin Wine Fair in Ciudad Real, Spain, to be held over May 5-7, with the local authorities in the Spanish city having hired an international consultancy company to organize the selection of Romanian wine importers and distributors interested to participate.
'The Spanish experience in terms of structural funds absorption in the wine sector, which can be easily seen in the Romanian wine cellars running on Spanish capital, alongside the trading system and marketing, will prove to be fundamental for the country,' Daniel Comanita, delegate of the Fair's organizers in Romania said. 'This is Romania's first participation in the fair, with the expenditure to be supported by organizers, who, by March 31, are to make a selection of 15 Romanian participants – three communication environments and 12 distributors and importers.'
The former Spanish ambassador to Bucharest Juan Pablo Garcia Berdoy , quoted on Monday by the digital edition of the Ciudad Real Tribune, hailed Romanian distributors' presence at this year's edition of Fenavin. Garcia-Berdoy recommended the Spaniard producers and distributors 'to make an effort to enter this interesting wine market with available qualified staff.' In the Spanish diplomat's opinion, there are several elements likely to ensure the success of the Spanish wines in Romania.
The Romanian tradition, in terms of wine consumption is one of them, alongside solid economic growth and the lack of such expensive and high-quality drinks. 'Romania has a long wine consumption tradition and the Spanish drinks are poorly represented on this market, so Fenavin is an excellent opportunity to open the Romanian market to the Spanish wines,' Juan Pablo Garcia Berdoy said.
