2 martie 2009

Information in English

The increase in the aid for the SMEs to 500,000 euros is one of the anti-crisis measures in the European Union, which Romania must take too, thinks Dan Voiculescu, Vice-President of Romania's Senate, founder chairman of the Conservative Party (PC). Attending the annual conference of the presidents of the EU member states in Paris last week, Vice-President of the Senate Dan Voiculescu gave a news conference in which he presented the agenda of the talks in Paris, reads a release of the PC press office.

According to the above-mentioned source, the Conservative leader said that he had a meeting with the Vice-President of the Italian Senate, during which they discussed the problem of the Romanians in Italy. "One needs lots of contacts for the Romanians' image to be a positive one, as it actually is. I think that the major problem in the case of the events in Italy is a communication one. I had a talk with the Vice-President of the Italian Senate and I was given the assent for the President of the Parliament in Italy to come to Bucharest in March.

We, Romanians, often do good things and do not know how to inform people of them. Thus, we all agree that offenders, murderers should be treated the same way everywhere," said Voiculescu. Dan Voiculescu said that during the meeting in Paris they also talked about the economic crisis, the Vice-President of the Senate insisting on some measures that work in the EU and that should be taken by Romania too.

"We have also talked about the economic crisis, this is a concern of the parliaments of the member states. I think that in the time to come the decisions that were made in the EU will be made by Romania too and here I am also referring to the differentiated VAT, which is now one of the EU recommendations and we may apply it too," added the founder chairman of PC. Over February 27-28 Paris hosted the conference of the presidents of the national parliaments of the EU member states.
